What is the dress code for the party?

For many years the Alamo Kiwanis Charity Art Show had been strictly a Western themed event.  Over the last several years The Show has evolved to feature original fine artwork from over 35 celebrated local, national and international artists. Over 400 pieces of original collectible and investment grade art ranging from western, abstract, still life, landscape, nature, wildlife, sporting and other themes will be on display. To continue with the history of the show, pull out your best rodeo clothes and boots, ya’ll. You will see anything from button downs and jeans, to Western chic skirts, turquoise and leather roaming the event. The event will be set up inside and in the grotto area of the LDR at the river level Henry B. Convention Center, therefore we encourage you to bring a coat or jacket so that you will feel comfortable dancing the night away or gambling in the casino. We will have a coat check for your convenience.


Is there a lot of art available for purchase?

Our participating artists are wonderful and annually bring lots of beautiful artwork that is highly coveted. As there will be several hundred guests in attendance, much of the artwork is sold very quickly at the beginning of the show. Your best chances for getting that special piece before someone else buys it is to purchase a VIP pass. This gives you early access to the artwork at 6:30 pm instead of 7:30 pm for regular ticket holders.


Where is the party located?

In the Lonesome Dove Room of the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center located on the banks of the San Antonio River. The address is 200 E. Market Street, San Antonio, TX 78205. The event will have free valet parking in the Convention Way Circle of the Henry B. Convention Center off of Market Street. There are plenty of signs leading you to valet area and to the party. What is the food and drink at the party?

We have catering by The RK Group with numerous Southwest flavors being served. We will also provide an open bar with your favorite beer, wine, and liquor drinks throughout the evening.


Where do I park?

Valet parking for the event will be in the Grand Hyatt Parking Garage at 600 E Market St. All Alamo Kiwanis Charity Art Show tickets include valet parking! Click here for a map to the location.


When do I get to take the artwork home that I purchased?

You can take home any purchased pieces the night of the show. Artwork may also be picked up the following day (Saturday) between 11am and 5pm in the LDR. All artwork must be paid for upon pickup.


Do I need hard copy tickets to get into the party?

If you bought your tickets online, your name will be on a list of paid guests and you will simply need to check in at the front table. If you are the guest of a corporate sponsor, you will receive a badge for Express Entry into the party. If you are a guest of a corporate sponsor but did not receive your badge before the party, there will be a “Will Call” table at the entrance to provide your entry badge to you at that time. If you haven’t bought a ticket beforehand, you can purchase a ticket at the front entrance of the party.
